"Look outside and you will see yourself. Look inside and you will find yourself"— Drew Gerald

Self-awareness is the ability to understand our own emotions, thoughts, values, and experiences, and how they can impact our actions. Improving our self-awareness can allow us to identify our strengths and weaknesses more effectively. This also compliments other competencies such as self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making.  Most of the students face challenges in expressing their real state of emotions which leads to misinterpretation of emotions.

If individuals are aware of their emotions and can label them accurately, it helps them to recognise and manage the same effectively by understanding various strategies that they can use according to their identified strengths and weaknesses. Recognising and labelling inner emotions, thoughts and values help in understanding them correctly and adopting an appropriate course of action to address the same.
